We aim to get your Volta 40 to you as quickly as possible. We rely on couriers for deliveries but you should receive your Volta 40 within 10 working days from acceptance of your order depending on the delivery address.
We are responsible for ensuring your Volta 40 works. Please contact the Stage Zero team via the support call centre or log a ticket via our customer portal and we will facilitate a replacement unit should there be no damage due to abuse or neglect.
Maintenance and upkeep of your Volta 40 is our responsibility. If there are any faults Stage Zero will arrange for the replacement of your device.
The Volta 40 always remains the property of Stage Zero. Once your contract expires, you may either choose to renew your contract for an extended period or to cancel your existing contract.

The initial contract period is 2 years.
You can cancel with 6 month’s notice via the Customer Portal. No cancellation fee will be applicable if you cancel your contract after 18 months, By giving 6 months notice to end the agreement on month 24.

After you completed our solar wizard, paid your deposit and submitted the required documents we will verify your information and plan your solar rooftop solution. Should your solution not be feasible for a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)we will offer your a rental option or refund your deposit.
Should the solution be feasible for a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) we will initiate various compliance applications and schedule your installation to complete your order.

The following will take place after your order has been placed:
1. We verify your information, approve your account, verify the feasibly of and plan your rooftop solution
2. The equipment required for your solar installation is reserved
3. We register your system with your municipality and submit a grid-tie application for permission to sell back to the grid
4. An approved contractor will schedule an appointment with you to install your solar solution and issue you with a supplementary COC (certificate of compliance)
5. A Stage Zero electrical engineer will verify the system remotely and if required schedule a second appointment for inspection and activation of the system.
6. The bi-directional electricity meter will be installed by your electricity distributor whereafter optimal savings will be achieved.
Yes, we allow upgrades and downgrades per the table below. Battery upgrades and downgrades requires 30 day’s notice and system changes 90 day’s notice via the Support Call Centre or Customer Portal. System upgrades/downgrades will only be allowed if the customer qualifies based on their energy consumption over the prior 12 months. An upgrade fee of R3 750 or a downgrade fee of R7 500 will be applicable.

Absolutely. You will be able to see all the relevant consumption and production analytics, money saved and live energy flows of your solution in our customer portal.
The solutions are fully managed by Stage Zero – This means that we are 100% responsible for the maintenance of the solar solution installed at your residence.
Yes, you’ll still receive a electricity bill from your energy distributor. Your home solar system will be connected to your distribution board, and therefor you will continue to receive a bill from your energy distributor for energy consumed from the grid.
However, with one of the Stage Zero solar solutions you will dramatically reduce your monthly bill, or even cut the amount down to almost R0, with a solar panel and battery system that matches your energy use.
At Stage Zero, we provide two Solar PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) solutions:
1. Savings PPA.
2. Backup PPA.
With both installations, we provide the infrastructure, installation, and maintenance – customers are only eligible to pay for their electricity usage/consumption per month.
Our Savings PPA (which excludes battery backup), guarantees a percentage saved on your monthly energy bill. Your Solar produced and Consumed Energy shall be deducted from your regular monthly bill and charged at a discounted rate – your total monthly consumption will be billed once at a reduced rate from Stage Zero, and the remainder from the Municipality (Grid). Should your Solar produced energy total 100% of your monthly needs, you will only be liable for a service charge from the Municipality.
Our Backup PPA works on the same principle as Savings, but you will also be liable for a small monthly surcharge for the backup solution you have selected. This solution will give you added protection during loadshedding, storing energy to be used when required.
In short, Solar PPA works on producing your own energy for consumption to reduce your monthly spend, whilst Backup does the same AND stores additional energy for emergency use.
The customer is responsible to insure the system at a specified value noted in the contract.
No, we offer a complete and fully managed service. Based on the protection stage you select (Stage 4 or stage 8) we will manage your system to ensure that you are covered for that period.
This is part of the fully manager service we provide, as soon as we pickup that the panels are not performing we will arrange to send a team out to perform the necessary maintenance.
Should you have a Savings Solution, the system will not work during loadshedding and you will have no electricity.
Should you be on a Backup PPA Solution, your system will continue to run on either the electricty that is generated by the solar panels or the battery backup that is installed.

Customer Zone
SOC, or State of Charge, is basically how full your battery is. It’s shown as a percentage that represents the current amount of energy in your battery compared to its total capacity.
The SOC setting lets you choose how much you want to charge your battery from the grid. By setting a higher SOC, you ensure that your battery has enough charge to protect you from load shedding. Setting a lower SOC can help you increase your savings on your electricity bills Its important to find a balanced limit to ensure optimal savings while still providing protection from any outages.
You can manage your battery’s SOC by choosing one of three options in our Customer Zone: Max Savings, Intermediate, or Max Protection. While our system automatically adjusts to help you optimize these settings, you can switch between them anytime to see what works best for your home. Just remember that your Stage Zero system learns how and when you use power, so if you have an event or a “out of the normal” expected load, we advise you to set your system back to “Default” to ensure maximum protection.
